Mike Sternad has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Mike started their career at FedEx, where they served as the Director of Financial Planning and Control and played a crucial role in redesigning the integration of strategy, pricing, control, and profitability analysis systems. During this time, they also introduced manpower planning and control methodologies.
Mike later joined Carson Pirie Scott & Co as the Director of Corporate Development, where they evaluated numerous acquisition opportunities, conducted due diligence, negotiated deals, and presented opportunities to the Board of Directors. Ultimately, they concluded four acquisitions ranging from $4 million to $100 million.
After their stint at Carson Pirie Scott & Co, Mike worked at IESC as a Developing Country Business Consultant. Here, they provided management consulting assistance to companies in developing countries such as Indonesia, Guatemala, and Armenia. Mike successfully helped expand the network of a pickup and delivery company in Indonesia, developed a worldwide strategy for a machine tool integrator, and marketed an Armenian Java framework developer into the US.
Next, Mike joined Ingram Micro as the VP of Financial Planning & Control, where they coordinated worldwide financial planning and control and worked closely with the European CFO and President of European Operation to develop a turn-around plan. Mike also advised the COO on significant changes to strategies, which led to the repositioning of Ingram Micro as a supply chain broker and distributor of information.
Following their time at Ingram Micro, Mike served as the CFO and CSO at Hyperion Solutions. As CFO, they provided continuity for strategic initiatives and participated in the Executive Pricing Committee. As CSO, they acted as a change agent after the company's merger.
Mike then became the CFO at Perfigo, a security software start-up, where they worked with the founders to move the company to profitability within a little over two years. Mike also initiated a line of credit and positioned Perfigo's accounting and control practices for potential IPO or acquisition.
After Perfigo, Mike worked at Cisco Systems in various roles. Mike served as the Director of Business Operations for Russia and CIS, where they focused on developing and empowering the Controllers and Financial Analysts and driving major change management initiatives. Mike later became the Director of Theater Controller for US/Canada Services, where they acted as a trusted advisor to the sales leader and contributed to the rationalization of compensation and improving attach rates.
Before retiring, Mike worked at Winalytics as a Financial Advisor and at Compile Inc. as the Retired CFO and Strategic Planning. At Winalytics, they provided financial advice, and at Compile Inc., they contributed to strategic planning.

Mike Sternad completed their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on International Business at The Ohio State University from 1968 to 1972.
