Nate Schmitt

Nate Schmitt has a diverse work experience in the field of IT and cybersecurity. Nate currently serves as the Director of Cybersecurity and vCISO at Computer Integration Technologies, Inc. (CIT), where they oversee all functions of the security department and conducts strategic visioning and planning as a member of the CIT leadership team. Prior to this role, Nate was the Manager of Cybersecurity at CIT, where they were responsible for governance, risk, compliance, digital forensics, incident response, security auditing, and architecture. Nate also served as a Security Engineer at CIT, where they assisted and mentored the Security Operations Center (SOC) staff and deployed various security solutions for clients. Before joining CIT, Nate worked at Fabcon Precast as an IT System Administrator and IT Support Specialist, providing administration to a Microsoft environment and technical support for users. Nate also has experience in customer relations and IT support at Winona State University, where they assisted students in resolving hardware and software issues and managed the university's IT department budget.

Nate Schmitt holds a Master's Degree in Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Communications from Winona State University. In addition to their degrees, Nate has several certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, CompTIA A+ ce and CompTIA Security+ ce from CompTIA, Okta Certified Professional from Okta, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council, and AlienVault Certified Security Engineer from AlienVault. Nate obtained these certifications between 2016 and 2022.
