Ricky Chan has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several companies. Ricky started their career in 1996 as a Customer Engineer at Hewlett-Packard, providing customer support and maintenance for HP servers and workstations. In 1998, they became a Contract UNIX Systems Administrator at the Hong Kong Police Force Information Technology Branch, where they were responsible for managing HP-UX servers and leading enhancement projects. In 2000, Ricky joined IBM Global Business Services as a UNIX System Administrator, and then moved on to ConsultNet in 2002 as an AT&T Wireless Systems and Data Engineer. From 2004 to 2015, they worked at TeleCommunication Systems as a Senior Unix System Administrator, Supervisor, Manager, and Senior Systems Engineer in various capacities. Currently, Ricky holds the position of Principal Engineer at Comtech Telecommunications Corp., where they focus on information security and performs vulnerability management and penetration testing.
Ricky Chan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Computer Option from The University of British Columbia. In 2014, they obtained a GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) certification from GIAC Certifications.
