Dr. John Aytekin

Dr. John Aytekin has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Dr. John started their career as a MS Science & HS Biology Teacher at Wisconsin Career Academy in 2000. Dr. John then moved to Horizon Science Academy Columbus, where they served as an Assistant Principal and later became the School Leader/Principal. In 2007, they joined Indiana Math and Science Academy West as the School Leader/Founding Principal. In 2010, they transitioned to Indiana Math and Science Academy North, continuing their role as School Leader/Founding Principal. Dr. Aytekin joined Concept Schools in 2013, first as a Superintendent and then as the Director of Accountability. Dr. John'smost recent role was as the Chief Accountability and Human Resources Officer at Concept Schools, starting in August 2018.

Dr. John Aytekin has an extensive education history. Dr. John first attended Marmara University from 1992 to 1997, where they earned their Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Science/Biology Teaching. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at the University of Dayton from 2004 to 2010.

In 2016, Dr. Aytekin enrolled at Northern Illinois University, where they pursued multiple degrees simultaneously. Dr. John completed the Principal Preparation Program at the University of Dayton in the same year. Additionally, they earned an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Administration Superintendent Preparation Program from Northern Illinois University in 2018.

Finally, from 2016 to 2021, Dr. Aytekin completed their Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Northern Illinois University.

In terms of certifications, Dr. Aytekin obtained a PEL- General Administrative- Principal (Kindergarten through Grade 12) certification from the Illinois State Board of Education in September 2017. Dr. John also received a PEL- Superintendent (PreKindergarten through Grade 12) certification from the same institution in June 2019.
