Alfonso Herrero has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Alfonso started their career as an Intern at Delphi, where they worked as a Co-op Testing Engineer, specializing in car door latch validation testing fixtures. Alfonso then moved on to the Max Planck Institut für Eisenforschung GmbH, where they worked as an Intern in the Material Diagnostics and Steel Technology department, assisting researchers with sample preparations and microstructure analysis.
Alfonso's next position was with Bechtel Oil, Gas, & Chemicals, where they held multiple roles. Alfonso started as a Control Systems Engineer (Instrumentation) and later became a Control Systems Engineer (VDD Group). Alfonso then advanced to the role of Operational Assurance Team Lead for the Wheatstone LNG Plant project, overseeing a team of engineers and ensuring smooth project turnover to Chevron. Alfonso also served as a Control Systems Engineer for the Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project, responsible for instrument specifications, P&ID reviews, and vendor coordination.
Following their time at Bechtel, Alfonso joined Intel Corporation as an Instrumentation & Controls TD Engineer. In this role, they specialized in managing instrumentation and controls for the company. Alfonso'smost recent position is with Concept Systems Inc, where they currently hold the title of Senior Engineer. In January 2023, they will transition to the role of Regional Engineering Manager.
Alfonso Herrero has a diverse education history. Alfonso obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey from 2002 to 2007. In 2004, they participated in an exchange program at AGH University of Science and Technology, where they focused on Lean Manufacture and Computer Integrated Systems.
Alfonso further advanced their education by completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialty in Finance from Universidad Tecmilenio from 2015 to 2017. Alfonso'sstudies equipped him with valuable knowledge in business administration and financial management.
To enhance their professional standing, Alfonso has also obtained several certifications. Alfonso earned the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers in February 2019 and from the Oregon State Board of Examiners for Engineering & Land Surveying in January 2020. Additionally, they obtained the Cedula Profesional certification in Mexico, further establishing their credibility as an engineer.
Alfonso's dedication to continuous learning is evident as they are currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering & Technology Management from Portland State University, which will conclude in 2023. This program will equip him with advanced skills in managing engineering projects and technological implementations.
