Robert Carter

Robert Carter serves as vice president and general counsel of Cone Health. Carter is responsible for managing the in-house legal department and advising senior leadership on a wide array of legal and regulatory issues.

Carter joined Cone Health in 2006 as the system’s first general counsel and was named vice president in 2011.

Carter earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his bachelor’s degree from Sewanee –The University of the South.

Carter is a member of the North Carolina and Guilford County Bar Associations and the American Health Lawyers Association, and he has served on the board of the North Carolina Society of Health Care Attorneys. Carter also serves on the Board of Directors of ArtsGreensboro.
