Faith Ashford, M.Ed has extensive work experience in the field of campus housing and support. Faith began their career at Conestoga College in 2022 as a Care Team Case Manager. Prior to this, they spent several years at the University of Waterloo, where they held various roles in campus housing. These positions included Case Support Coordinator, Residence Life Coordinator, Administration and Academic Programming Coordinator, Community Coordinator, and Residence Life Don. Faith also worked as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor at the campus pool and served as the Student Swim Instructor Program Coordinator. Additionally, Faith has experience with YMCA Canada where they worked as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor, as well as a Summer Day Camp Counselor. Faith also gained valuable experience as a Summer Overnight Camp Counselor and Waterfront Lifeguard & Swim Instructor at Girl Guides of Canada. Faith Ashford's work experience demonstrates their dedication to supporting and mentoring individuals in various educational and recreational settings.
Faith Ashford, M.Ed has a Master of Education - MEd degree in Student Affairs from Wilfrid Laurier University, which they obtained from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Baccalaureate of Arts - BA degree at the University of Waterloo from 2013 to 2017, with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in English Language and Literature.
In addition to their degrees, Faith has obtained several certifications. In January 2023, they received a certification in BIT Standards and Best Practices from the National Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment (NABITA). Faith also holds a certification in Case Management Standards and Best Practices from NABITA, obtained in March 2023. Faith is certified in Mental Health First Aid by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, which they obtained in February 2023. Faith received a safeTalk certification from LivingWorks in January 2023. In October 2022, Faith became certified as a Respect in Sport - Activity Leader by Alliance Hockey. Faith is also certified in Standard First Aid CPR-C/AED by the Life Saving Society, which they obtained in August 2022. In July 2018, Faith completed the ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) program offered by LivingWorks. Furthermore, they hold a 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do from Kukkiwon, which they achieved in October 2013.
