Tony Lumbwe

Tony Lumbwe has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Tony currently works at Newtrax as an Accounts and Project Manager, overseeing the Canada/USA region since February 2022. In addition, Tony is also a Faculty Lecturer at Conestoga College's School of Business, starting in August 2022.

Prior to their current positions, Tony worked as a Mining Technology Specialist at Toromont Cat from July 2021 to January 2022. At Newtrax, they held two roles, serving as a Technical Services Manager from January 2020 to March 2021, and before that, they were a Deployment Specialist for the African Region from May 2019 to December 2019.

Tony's earlier experiences include working at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) as a Senior Engineer in the Mining and Mineral Resources sector from September 2017 to April 2019. Before that, they were a Development Engineer at the Centre for Mining Innovation from October 2013 to September 2017.

Tony also worked as a Software Development Project Manager at Ganizani Consulting Services, Africa's Marketing, and Tech Company from February 2014 to February 2018. In addition, they gained experience as an Engineer in training at the French South African Institute of Technology (F'SATI) from October 2011 to October 2013.

Tony's earliest recorded position was as a Design Engineer (Mechatronics) at Caudwell Marine, where they worked from October to December 2009.

Tony Lumbwe completed their education in a progressive manner, with a focus on engineering and mining-related fields. Tony obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering (Mechanised Mining Systems) from the University of the Witwatersrand between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electronic and Electrical Systems from ESIEE PARIS from 2010 to 2012. Tony also holds a M-Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, which they completed between 2007 and 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Tony has also acquired several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Tony completed a course in Critical Thinking for Better Judgment and Decision-Making from LinkedIn in May 2022. In March 2021, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Furthermore, Tony has been awarded the Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech. Eng.) certification by the Engineering Council of South Africa in August 2017. Lastly, they have obtained a verification of their international academic qualifications from the World Education Services in December 2018.
