Nigel Smart

Nigel Smart is a Professor at COSIC (KU Leuven) since January 2018 and currently serves as an advisor for multiple companies, including Optalysys, Zama, Astran, Confidencial Inc, Cosmian, Dfns, and Enveil. From July 2021 to August 2022, Nigel Smart was an advisor at Cape Privacy and co-founded Unbound Security in July 2013, a company focused on securing cryptographic keys through Multi-Party Computation, which was acquired by Coinbase in January 2022. Nigel Smart holds a PhD in Pure Mathematics from the University of Kent and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Reading.
