Mitchell Fenner has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Mitchell started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where they isolated lead-resistant microorganisms and analyzed their heavy metal resistance. Following this, they worked as an Ophthalmology Research Assistant at Wayne State University School of Medicine, where they conducted behavioral testing and retinal examinations using viral gene therapy. Mitchell then joined Superior Measuring LLC as a Building Maintenance worker, where they automated a complex Excel process and performed routine maintenance tasks. Mitchell later interned as a Release Engineering Intern at Tyler Technologies, where they maintained CI/CD pipelines for .NET Framework applications and created and tested new build agents. Currently, Mitchell works at Configit as a DevOps Engineer, responsible for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, delivering patches, and managing complex release processes. Mitchell also played a key role in writing deployment scripts as part of the company's initiative to move their primary software product to the cloud.

Mitchell Fenner completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Wayne State University from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn between 2013 and 2017. Additionally, Mitchell obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification from Microsoft in November 2022.
