Douglas Pettay

Douglas Pettay is an Associate Principal at Confluence since December 2018, bringing extensive experience in landscape architecture. Previously, Douglas served as an Associate at Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects from October 2013 to October 2018 and as a Senior Project Manager at Terry Guen Design Associates from February 2005 to July 2013. In these roles, Douglas was responsible for collaborating with allied professionals on design processes, document production, and overseeing landscape installations in the Chicago region. Earlier positions included Field Crew Leader at Conservation Land Stewardship, focusing on ecological restoration, and Biological Science Aid with the US Forest Service, where Douglas developed expertise in prairie ecological systems. Douglas holds a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earned between 2000 and 2005.
