Omar Jasim

Controls Team Lead - Autonomous Vehicles at Conigital Group

Omar Jasim has a diverse work experience starting from 2001. Omar holds a BEng. in Computer Engineering from NTU and an MEng. in Computer Engineering. Omar then pursued their Ph.D. in Automatic Control and Autonomous Systems Engineering from The University of Sheffield, where they also worked as a Teaching Assistant. After completing their Ph.D., Omar joined Sheffield Robotics as a Ph.D. Researcher.

In 2020, Omar started working at The University of Salford as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, leading the development of an autonomous driving system for self-driving cars. Omar also taught robotics and AI to MSc students and contributed to the FAIR Space project.

Omar's most recent work experience includes being a Senior Robotics Research Engineer at Conigital Group. Omar has also taken on the role of Senior Motion Planning & Control Engineer (Controls Team Lead) - Autonomous Vehicles at the same company.

Omar Jasim holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Automatic Control and Autonomous Systems Engineering from The University of Sheffield. Omar completed this doctoral program, although the specific start and end years are not provided.

Prior to their PhD, Omar Jasim obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Engineering from Northern Technical University, completing the program between 2009 and 2012.

In addition to their academic degrees, Omar Jasim has also acquired several certifications.
