Clarence Hines

Clarence Hines has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Clarence began their career in 1995 as a Musician in the US Army, where they served until 1999. Clarence then pursued further education and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Rochester - Eastman School of Music from 2002 to 2007. In 2007, they joined the University of North Florida as an Associate Professor of Jazz Studies, and later took on the role of Interim Director - School of Music from 2019 to 2020. Currently, they serve as the Director - School of Music at the University of North Florida. Additionally, since 2009, they have been working as an Artist/Clinician for Conn-Selmer, Inc.

Clarence Hines has a diverse educational background. Clarence completed their Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A) degree in Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media at the University of Rochester - Eastman School of Music from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Music (M.M.) degree in Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media at the same institution from 2002 to 2004.

Earlier in their education, Clarence earned a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Florida between 1999 and 2002.
