Sommer Meyer is an experienced environmental professional with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Rochester and an Associate's degree from Inver Hills Community College. Currently serving as a Field Crew Leader at Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa, Sommer has previously held positions including Temporary Park Maintenance at Lebanon Hills Regional Park, where responsibilities included maintaining cleanliness and safety of park facilities, and serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Rochester, developing atmospheric and hydrologic sensors. Sommer's internship with NOAA's South Slough Reserve involved virtual research during the COVID-19 pandemic, while earlier contributions included leadership as Community Engagement Director for EcoReps, promoting urban gardening initiatives. Additionally, Sommer was a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow in Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island, conducting significant research on marine bivalves.
