Daniela Raik

As the Executive Vice President of Field Programs, Daniela leads the delivery of Conservation International’s conservation impact in nearly 30 countries worldwide.

Daniela directs the organization’s efforts to maximize nature as a climate solution, expand ocean conservation and advance models of sustainable development that maintain natural capital while generating benefits for people. Prior to this role, she served as Senior Vice President of Conservation International’s Americas program, overseeing key strategic initiatives in Amazonia, the Eastern Tropical Pacific, and the “Water & Cities” program (Bogotá, Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro).

Daniela has worked at Conservation International for 14 years. During that time, she has served as Managing Director of the Betty and Gordon Moore Center for Science, as well as Vice President of Field Program Management, supporting the operations and delivery of the organization’s field divisions. She was instrumental in developing the Gaborone Declaration for Sustainability in Africa, an African-led initiative that provides a new model for sustainable development on the continent.

Daniela has spent two decades in conservation, natural resource management and sustainable development. She has a Ph.D. and M.S. in natural resources from Cornell University, and a B.A. in biology from New York University.
