Lina Barrera

Lina Barrera is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in global policy and government affairs, currently serving as the Senior Vice President at Conservation International since September 2003. Lina has held various leadership roles, including Vice President of International Policy and Senior Director of International Policy, where responsibilities included supervising the International Policy team, guiding CI's strategic initiatives, and fostering partnerships to advance biodiversity goals. Notable contributions include leading efforts at the Convention on Biological Diversity, establishing collaborations with the Inter-American Development Bank, and providing technical inputs for regional strategies throughout Latin America. Lina's early career included roles at Coastal America, the UN Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Educational qualifications consist of a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida, and a French language certificate from Université de La Sorbonne.
