Senior Vice President and Project Director, Uranium Processing Facility

John H. Platt II is the senior vice president and project director for the Uranium Processing Facility. In this role, he directs Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC activities associated with this facility, which will replace World War II-era production facilities. CNS manages and operates the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas, and the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Platt is also a senior vice president with Bechtel, one of the world’s leading engineering and construction companies.

Platt has more than 20 years of experience in engineering, procurement, and construction activities at project and executive levels. In his previous position as senior project manager for Bechtel’s Pennsylvania Chemicals project, he oversaw the project’s scope which included the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of an ethylene plant, polyethylene plant, water treatment facility, cogeneration plant, and other related facilities on the multi-billion-dollar project.

Prior to that, Platt was the project manager for oil, gas, and chemical construction projects in Baytown, Texas, and in Saudi Arabia. In these roles, he deployed several first-of-a-kind innovations that positively impacted environment, safety, health, and productivity.

From 2001-2011, Platt worked at DOE's Waste Treatment & Immobilization Plant Project Waste Treatment and Vitrification Plant with Bechtel in various roles of increasing responsibility including project manager for the low activity waste facility.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University, is a Registered Professional Engineer, a Senior Member of IEEE, and a Project Management Professional and member of PMI.
