Sijia Tao has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 2008, Sijia obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree from The University of Tokyo, specializing in urban issues, mathematical analysis, and GIS. In 2012, Sijia worked as a Project Assistant at Jiangyin Architectural Design & Research Institute, assisting with design drafting and cost estimation using AutoCAD and Revit. The following year, as a Research Intern at Walt Disney Imagineering, Sijia contributed to an online information platform for building projects by developing an ontology for building parts. In 2014, Sijia served as a Field Research and Cost Estimation Intern at the Town of Los Altos Hills, working on the Pavement Rehabilitation Project and assisting with decision-making based on road conditions and budget constraints. Sijia also worked as an Intern in the Data Product Management Office at Risk Management Solutions, where they defined a methodology to derive building elevation data for flood modeling. From 2014 to 2016, Sijia worked at Google as a GIS Analyst and Operation Lead, engaging in large-scale 3D map production and implementing improvements to operational processes. From 2019 to 2021, Sijia served as a Product Management Consultant at Strategic Building Innovation · bimSCORE, collaborating with the software development team to build a meeting and task management app. More recently, starting in 2022, Sijia enrolled in Hack Reactor, where they gained experience as a student and took on various roles such as Frontend Developer, Back End Developer, and Product Manager and Software Engineer. Sijia's most recent work experience is as a Frontend Engineer at ConstructionBevy, starting in 2023.
Sijia Tao completed a Bachelor's degree in Urban Engineering from The University of Tokyo in 2012. After that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, which they completed in 2014.
In terms of additional certifications, Sijia obtained their EIT (Engineer in Training) certification from the Board for professional engineers, land surveyors, and geologists in April 2014. Sijia also acquired the LEED GA (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Associate) certification from USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) in November 2013.
