From 2005 to 2007, they worked at Perficient Digital (formerly Enlighten) as Communications Director and Interactive Media Strategist. In 2007, they became a Blogger for The Globe and Mail. From 2014 to 2021, they worked as a Branded Content Developer at Contently, where their clients included IBM, Toshiba, Spotify, Chewy.com, GroupM, Vistaprint, PODS, Braintree, MOO, Philips Lighting, Shutterstock, and TELUS International. Her work has been published in Adweek, Digiday, Forbes, Business Insider, the Advertising Week Official Guide, The Drum, and The Huffington Post. In 2020, they became an Author of Crime Fiction at Penguin Random House, and in 2021 they became an Author of Crime Fiction at Severn House.
Tessa Wegert obtained a BA in Communication Studies (Specialization) from Concordia University between 1996 and 1998. Prior to that, they studied Theatre and English Literature at Bishop's University from 1995 to 1996. Tessa also attended DANK Haus for German Studies, though the dates are not specified.
