Sr/Wa Kent Melton

Kent Melton, SR/WA has extensive work experience in the field of land acquisition and real property management. Kent started their career at NCDOT as an Acquisition/Relocation Agent, where they were responsible for acquiring properties and managing relocations for various highway projects.

After working at NCDOT for almost a decade, Melton joined PBS&J International Inc as an Acquisition Project Manager. Here, they played a crucial role in building the land acquisitions division in the Raleigh, North Carolina office. Their responsibilities included project management, drafting proposals, employee supervision, and various acquisition functions.

Melton then joined Universal Field Services, Inc as a Project Manager and later became an Area Manager. During their time at Universal Field Services, they worked on projects such as the Los Angeles Unified School District's plan to build 85 new schools and the TREX Light Rail project in Denver, where they coordinated acquisition and relocation assistance services.

In 2006, Melton joined Sound Transit as a Sr. Real Property Agent and eventually became the Deputy Director Real Property. In these roles, they supervised staff, managed the acquisition and relocation program, and assisted the Real Property Director with budgeting, scheduling, and troubleshooting issues related to Link Light Rail projects.

In 2016, Melton briefly worked at Roland Resources, Inc as a Supervisor, Project Services before joining Contract Land Staff as a Project Director. In their current role, they manage all aspects of projects for the CLS Northwest operations, including training acquisition services, negotiations, client services, and business development for the NW office.

Throughout their career, Melton has demonstrated expertise in project management, strategy development, budgeting, and client services. Their vast experience in the field makes him a valuable asset in the realm of land acquisition and real property management.

Kent Melton, SR/WA obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science/Public Administration from Appalachian State University between the years 1984 and 1989. In 2016, they also obtained a Real Estate Broker certification from the State of Washington.
