Michael O'Connor has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Michael is currently serving as the President of ControlTouch Systems since November 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Siemens Logistics LLC from July 2016 to July 2020, where they held the position of Head of Global Sales-Airports. In this role, they were responsible for developing and executing the worldwide sales program for the division, focusing on delivering large-scale projects in material handling systems and construction.
Before their tenure at Siemens Logistics LLC, O'Connor was the CEO and President of Five Star Airport Alliance from November 2012 to June 2016. During this time, they successfully led a turnaround of the parent company, implementing strategic plans, rebuilding teams, and streamlining product offerings and sales strategies.
From July 2008 to November 2012, O'Connor served as the Vice President/General Manager at The Horsley Company. Michael was recruited by the CEO to turn around an underperforming division that operated in the engineering, manufacturing, and construction industries. Under their leadership, the division became the most profitable and largest growth manufacturing and project-based arm of the corporation.
Prior to their role at The Horsley Company, O'Connor held multiple positions at FKI Logistex. From April 2005 to May 2008, they served as the National Sales Director, where they developed revenue opportunities and strategic business relationships across the airport system spectrum. Michael was also a Sales Manager for Airport Systems at FKI Logistex from February 2003 to March 2005, where they focused on expanding the customer base and achieving sales growth.
O'Connor's earlier experience includes working as a Sales Engineer at Jervis B. Webb Company from March 1998 to February 2003, where they marketed and sold modern control systems for material handling systems, with a specific emphasis on the airport market. Michael also worked at USG (United States Gypsum), where they served as a Mill Plant Manager from June 1997 to May 1998 and as a Project Engineer from November 1995 to June 1997.
Overall, throughout their career, O'Connor has demonstrated strong leadership skills, successfully led turnarounds, implemented strategic plans, developed revenue opportunities, and achieved profitability.
Michael O'Connor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University between the years 1986 and 1991. Michael then pursued Graduate Studies in the MBA Finance Program at the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1998. In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained several certifications, including training in leadership, relationship-building, first impressions, and collaborative leadership.
