Marcy Lynn Guerra, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the field of pharmaceutical research and development. Marcy Lynn currently works at Cook MyoSite as a Process Design Senior Scientific Writer, where they are responsible for creating and authoring Process Design Documentation. Marcy Lynn is also a member of the steering committee, which coordinates and influences company-wide projects to meet Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) requirements. Additionally, they contribute to the preparation and review of regulatory documentation.

Prior to their current role, Dr. Guerra served as a Process Development Scientist II at Cook MyoSite. In this position, they were involved in the creation and authoring of Process Design Documentation for Stage I Process Validation activities. Marcy Lynn also contributed to regulatory documentation and served on the steering committee.

Before joining Cook MyoSite, Dr. Guerra worked at StemSynergy Therapeutics, Inc. as a Senior Biological Scientist. During their time there, they led and managed multiple independent projects, including screening efforts for the identification of small-molecule drugs for the treatment of neuroblastoma, colorectal cancer, and regenerative healing. Marcy Lynn also collaborated with regulatory affairs to ensure the completion of necessary documentation for a pre-IND meeting and managed external relationships with contract research organizations (CROs).

Dr. Guerra's experience also includes a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher II at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where they studied signaling pathways induced by activation of G-protein coupled receptors. Marcy Lynn also worked as a Graduate Student at Purdue University, where they determined signaling pathways activated downstream of L-type voltage-gated calcium channels and the Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor in pancreatic β-cells.

Additionally, Dr. Guerra gained research experience as an Undergraduate Researcher in Synthetic Chemistry at Washington & Jefferson College, where they contributed to the completion of a peer-reviewed manuscript. Marcy Lynn also conducted summer research in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at The Ohio State University, studying the mechanism of action of a compound in thyroid cancer cell lines.

Marcy Lynn Guerra, Ph.D. pursued their education in the field of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology. From 2005 to 2011, they attended Purdue University and successfully obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Prior to their doctoral studies, they completed their undergraduate education at Washington & Jefferson College from 2001 to 2005. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a focus on biochemistry.
