COPE Health Scholar Intern at COPE Health Scholars

Irene Wong is an experienced professional in the fields of research and education, currently serving as a COPE Health Scholar Intern at COPE Health Scholars since February 2023 and as a Research Assistant at Caltech since November 2022. Previous roles include Undergraduate Researcher at Northwestern University from September 2021 to June 2022, where X. Bao, Ph served as Principal Investigator, and Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for CHEM 215-2 (Organic Chemistry), aiding in exam preparation. Irene gained research experience as an Eugene & Ruth Roberts Research Intern at City of Hope under M. LaBarge, Ph during the summer of 2021. Additionally, Irene contributed to educational initiatives as a Jumpstart Americorps Corps Member, implementing literacy programs for preschool children in Chicago in early 2020, earning the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. Irene holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biological Sciences with a focus on Cell Biology and Physiology from Northwestern University, completed in 2022, following education at Alhambra High School.
