Daan Archer has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Daan is currently the CEO and Co-founder of Copyright Delta, a web3 platform for music licensing and fractional co-ownership. Prior to this, Daan was a Co-founder at Open Signum Foundation, a Dutch nonprofit focused on open-source privacy-by-design verified credential gateways. Daan also worked as a Technology Advisor at Politie Nederland, where they helped the police force integrate AI/machine learning and explore distributed ledger technologies for law enforcement.
In addition, Daan has played significant roles in the music industry. Daan served as the Lead of Technical Working Groups at the Open Music Initiative, a non-profit initiative aimed at aligning the music industry and improving compensation for music creators and contributors. Daan was also a Vice President of Technology & Strategy, Co-lead software developer, and Partner at Context Labs, where they helped build innovative solutions for multiple sectors.
Daan has a strong academic background as well. Daan worked as a Visiting Researcher and Lecturer in Data Analytics at the MIT Media Lab. Daan also participated in the Sloan Fellow & Fulbright Scholar program at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Earlier in their career, Daan worked as a Deputy-Counsellor for Science and Technology at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate of the Netherlands, where they strengthened strategic R&D partnerships.
Before entering the tech and business fields, Daan's career started in the field of bio-informatics. Daan worked as a Software Developer and Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, building protein-interaction analytics software. Daan also worked as a Software Developer and Researcher in AI and neuro-informatics at RIKEN, a renowned independent research institution in Japan.
Throughout their career, Daan has demonstrated a strong interest in technology, innovation, and bringing together different sectors to drive positive change.
Daan Archer completed their high school education at Lorentz Casimir Lyceum. Daan then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Sciences & Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam, which they completed in 2002. Later, they enrolled in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and joined the Sloan Fellows Program, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2013. In the same year, Daan also attended the Harvard Kennedy School, specializing in Technology, Security, and Conflict in the Cyber Age.
