Jake Garbutt

Jake Garbutt is an experienced professional who has worked in various roles in the finance industry.

Jake started their career at MarketFinance in 2014, where they served as a Portfolio Manager. In this role, they managed an invoice finance portfolio, working closely with MDs and CFOs to ensure sufficient cash flow for 100 clients. Jake also played a key role in the introduction and rollout of purchase order and contract finance.

In 2017, Jake joined Funding Options as the Head of Customer Success. Jake was hired with the objective of monetizing the historical lead database and successfully established a sales development team. Jake also designed and implemented a structured hiring plan and training schedule for new sales team members.

In 2018, Jake took on the additional responsibility of Head of Sales at Funding Options. Jake grew the sales headcount to 31 and restructured the broker function, which led to the growth of a new revenue stream in the sub £10k loan category. Jake also identified and promoted three brokers into team lead roles.

In 2019, Jake joined Outfund as the Chief Commercial Officer. Outfund is a business finance platform designed for e-commerce and online brands. Jake integrated the platform with payment processors and used historical data to model future revenue and determine appropriate advances.

Most recently, in 2022, Jake co-founded Cora Capital and assumed the role of Co-Founder & CEO. Cora is a digital lending platform that offers extended payment terms to UK businesses. Jake's experience and expertise in the finance industry will undoubtedly drive the success of Cora Capital.

Jake Garbutt attended the University of Greenwich from 2011 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics. In December 2020, Jake Garbutt also received the CIMA Cert BA certification from the CIMA institution.
