Dr. Kauffman is a public safety training and teaching expert, and national consultant. His 30 years of experience include serving in a variety of positions including executive director of a national training and technical assistance institute, patrol supervisor, tactical entry team member, police and corrections training expert, and Lieutenant and Captain with Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST). Brian has trained thousands of public safety and community representatives across the nation in police and homeland security topics, and continues to serve as a national consultant, providing assistance to public safety agencies.

Dr. Kauffman’s teaching responsibilities focus on his areas of expertise, including corrections, homeland security, public safety leadership, and community policing and public safety relations. Before joining the Corban team as a full-time professor, he taught for two years as an adjunct professor in the criminal justice division.
