David Urke has a range of work experiences in the construction and energy industries. David started their career at District Energy St. Paul in 1984, where they worked as a Lead Project Engineer and gained expertise in engineering, design, construction management, and construction supervision of district heating and cooling distribution piping systems. David also served as a Project Engineer and Project Manager for Ever-Green Energy as a service provider to District Energy St. Paul.
In 2016, David joined Avant Energy Inc. as a Construction Manager and was responsible for managing and supervising the construction of the Shakopee Energy Park, a natural gas-fueled facility.
From 2018 to 2019, David worked at their own company, Urke & Associates, as a Senior Construction Project Engineer and Project Manager. David led teams on various industrial and commercial construction projects, overseeing all aspects from conceptual design to final delivery.
In 2019, David joined Bolton & Menk, Inc. as a Senior Construction Project Representative, where they oversaw the construction of public infrastructure in new developments.
In 2019, they also started working at Clearway Community Energy as a Senior Project Manager. Clearway is a comprehensive energy solutions provider, and David played a crucial role in managing projects across multiple cities in North America.
Most recently, in 2022, David continued their position as a Senior Project Manager at Cordia, formerly known as Clearway Community Energy. Cordia focuses on bringing innovation and sustainability to the energy industry, and David's expertise in new technologies and energy generation assets makes him uniquely qualified to guide customers through the energy transition.
David Urke completed their Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota. David then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a field of study in Master of Science - Management of Technology (MS-MOT) from the Technological Leadership Institute at the University of Minnesota. Prior to their higher education, David attended Benson High School.
