Jack Smith

Jack Smith, CPA has extensive work experience in finance, internal audit, and inventory control. Jack currently holds the role of Vice President Finance Operations and Internal Controls at Core Scientific. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President Internal Audit. Before joining Core Scientific, Jack worked as a Senior Consultant at Cox Consulting Network, where they successfully completed a project to streamline accounting activities and reduce training time and closing processes.

Jack also has a strong background in internal audit, having worked as the Internal Audit Director at Dell Technologies, where they conducted global audits and implemented project management processes to support the SOX team. Jack also facilitated risk assessments and developed an annual audit roadmap.

At Dell, Jack held various roles, including Inventory Control Director, where they established global inventory assurance and reconciliation processes, and Sr. Manager Global Inventory Control, where they implemented monitoring and analysis measures.

Earlier in their career, Jack worked as the Senior Manager Internal Controls and Internal Audit Manager at Dell, where they managed control activities and led audit engagements covering areas such as privacy, revenue recognition, and logistics. Jack also served as a Manufacturing Finance Consultant, supporting operational and financial decisions.

Prior to their time at Dell, Jack also worked as a Corporate Finance Advisor at Apple and as a Credit and Collections Analyst. Jack has a strong track record of implementing control measures, streamlining processes, and driving productivity improvements.

Jack Smith, CPA graduated from Texas State University in 1994 with a degree in Hospital Administration, with a focus on Business Administration. Jack also obtained their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy in 2003.
