Peter Cullen

Peter Cullen has over 8 years of experience in designing, developing, integrating, and deploying components of a Network Intrusion Detection System (IDS). Currently, they are working as a Principal Engineer at Corelight, Inc, focusing on integrating Zeek and Zeek packages into their sensor products. Prior to that, Peter worked at Reservoir Labs as a Senior Principal Engineer and Principal Software Engineer, where they contributed to the development of R-Scope, an appliance for network monitoring and intrusion detection. Peter also worked at ATTO Technology, Inc as a Manager of System Software and Senior Systems Software Engineer, leading the development of high-performance host bus adapters, RAID controllers, and network connectivity products. In addition, Peter has experience working as a Technical Consultant at HSBC Technology Services, a Senior Systems Analyst at Ingram Micro, a Senior Consultant at EMRT, a Senior Software Engineer at Sungard Trading Systems, a Senior Software Engineer at Xerox, and a Research Scientist at CEDAR. Their expertise includes high-performance networking technologies, cyber-security, hardware bring-up, container-based solutions, package management, Python, Linux processes, and more.

Peter Cullen holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo, which they obtained from 1988 to 1990. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the same university, from 1984 to 1988. Peter also attended Amherst Central HS from 1979 to 1983 and obtained a Regents degree. Additionally, Peter Cullen has a certification as a VMware Certified Professional from VMware, earned in 2009.
