Joseph Jarvis

Co-Founder at Coriell Life Sciences

Joseph Jarvis has been working in the field of life sciences since 2002. Joseph began their career as a Graduate Student at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, where they conducted doctoral thesis work under the direction of Dr. James M. Cheverud. In 2008, they moved to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where they served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow with an NIH-NRSA Fellowship (F32). In 2012, they became an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. In 2011, they joined Coriell Institute for Medical Research as Principal Investigator of the Coriell Personalized Medicine Collaborative, where they supervised the day-to-day aspects of the project, including the strategic coordination of a team of researchers, genetic counselors, research analysts, external consultants, clinical laboratory personnel, administrative and IT support specialists. Joseph also served as Director of Genomic Risk Reporting and Senior Research Scientist. In 2013, they became Co-Founder of Coriell Life Sciences, where they advised on the on-going maintenance and expansion of a comprehensive clinical decision support solution for medication therapy management (GeneDose/GeneDoseLive) and provided domain expertise in genomic and statistical analysis to the process of new product development, including in the area of Women's Health. In 2018, they founded Jarvis Life Sciences Consulting LLC, where they served as Owner and Senior Consultant. Most recently, in 2019, they joined the Air Force Research Laboratory as a Senior Research Biological Scientist.

Joseph Jarvis received their B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame between 1998 and 2002. Joseph then went on to earn their Ph.D. in Evolution, Ecology and Population Biology from Washington University in St. Louis in 2008.
