Niall Burke

Niall Burke is a Senior Business Development Scientist and Principal Investigator for Shannon ABC at Munster Technological University since March 2018. Prior to this role, Niall served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at AstraZeneca, focusing on cardiotoxicity mechanisms within the Drug Safety Metabolism team from October 2016 to March 2018. Niall's academic journey includes a PhD in Cardiovascular Science from University College London, where research addressed mitochondrial dynamics in cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury, as well as a research MSc in Microbiology and a BSc in Physiology from University College Cork. Niall also worked as a Research Technician at Imperial College London, studying the inflammatory response in atherosclerosis progression.
