Zane Haley

Digitization and Process Modeling Engineer at Cornerstone Chemical Company

Zane Haley has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Zane started their career at USG as a Process Engineer Co-Op, where they focused on process improvement, cost-saving projects, and safety initiatives. Zane also supervised raw material trials and evaluated paper drying efficiency.

After that, Zane worked as an Engineering Intern at Corning Optical Communications and as a Project Intern at Eastman Chemical Company. These experiences provided him with hands-on exposure to engineering projects and industry practices.

Zane then joined The Chemours Company as a Chemical Process Engineer, where they developed capacity expansion project scopes and created flow models for various streams. Zane also successfully navigated major capital projects through corporate review processes. Later, they were promoted to the role of Staff Chemical Process Engineer, where they continued to contribute to the company's growth and reliability.

Currently, Zane is employed at Cornerstone Chemical Company as a Chemical Process Engineer, specializing in water treatment and plant utility systems. Zane'sresponsibilities include supporting coagulation/clarifier units, anthracite filters, ion exchange softeners, and DA tank and boiler operations. Additionally, they hold the position of Digitization and Process Modeling Engineer, where they apply their expertise in digitization and process modeling to enhance operations and efficiency.

Throughout their career, Zane has demonstrated strong engineering skills, project management abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Zane'sdiverse experiences have equipped him with a well-rounded skill set in the field of chemical engineering.

Zane Haley's education history starts with their high school education at Deep Run High School, where they earned an Advanced High School Diploma from 2009 to 2013. They then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Virginia Tech from 2013 to 2017, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors and achieving a GPA of 3.86. In 2016, Zane also attended the DTU - Technical University of Denmark for a short period to study Unit Operations in Chemical Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Zane has obtained various certifications. They acquired ISO 14001 Auditor, ISO 45001 Auditor, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor - Quality Certification, and RC 14001 Auditor certifications from X-CEL Quality Services, INC. in March 2021. In March 2019, Zane received a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) certification from Chemours. They obtained certifications in Incident Investigation and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Pressure Relief System Design, and Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) from Chemours in October 2017. Furthermore, Zane acquired a TWIC certification from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in December 2019. Additionally, they hold a Lean/Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification, although the institution and date are unknown.
