In 1999, Joe Turner’s career in the unemployment compensation consulting business began as an Unemployment Claims Analyst with Thomas & Thorngren Inc. (subsequently Thomas & Company) (T&C) In this role, Joe was responsible for all aspects of protesting the unemployment claim from the initial response through representation at the unemployment hearing. Joe worked closely with clients educating them as to the information needed and expectations of the employer throughout the claims process.
Joe was promoted to several leadership positions including team lead and claims manager. He developed standardized reference and training materials to ensure there was consistent service delivery across his department. He also partnered with the firm’s IT department to develop tools to enhance the processes and claim responses within his department.
In 2008, Joe was promoted to be the first Director of Client Services at T&C with responsibility for ensuring delivery of all of the firm’s services to its client base. Joe was responsible for all aspects of client services including client education, program analysis and report delivery. As a result of Joe’s experience, knowledge and customer service focus, client satisfaction increased dramatically.
In 2012, Joe became the Director of UI Hearings for T&C with a primary responsibility to develop and expand the company’s network of independent hearing representatives nationwide to allow the organization to expand the service offerings to its existing and prospective clients. In this role, he also provided expert consultation and representation for his clients in unemployment hearings.
In 2016, CCC was fortunate to have Joe join our team. As the Hearings Director, Joe manages all representatives and coordinators in the department, to improve both customer service and processes. Joe strives to make sure each and every CCC client receive the timely notice, superior service and effective representation throughout their hearing experience.
