Tony Porter OBE QPM LLB has held a variety of roles in their career. In 2021, they became the Chief Privacy Officer at Corsight AI. From 2014 to 2021, they were the Surveillance Camera Commissioner for England and Wales under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. From 2012 to 2014, they were the Vice President Head of Physical Security Intelligence at Barclays and the Assistant Chief Constable at Greater Manchester Police. From 2006 to 2012, they were the Head of North West Counter Terrorism Unit and from 2003 to 2006, they were the Head of Special Branch at Greater Manchester Police.
Tony Porter OBE QPM attended Xaverian College from 1973 to 1981. Tony then went on to The Manchester Metropolitan University from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). In 2006, they attended Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and received a Leadership LinCT (assoc St Andrews) in Leadership in Counter Terrorism.
