Fabian Kohler serves as the Vice President of R&D at CorTec since October 2015, overseeing all research and development activities, including the creation of sophisticated medical devices such as electrode and lead assemblies and fully implantable active devices. Kohler has previously held roles involving reliability engineering, business development, and process development for active implantable devices, focusing on design transfer and risk management. Prior experience includes positions at IMTEK, University of Freiburg, where work involved developing fully implantable brain interfaces and neural electrodes, and Bionic Vision Australia, where Kohler contributed to implantable device development for vision prostheses. Educational qualifications include a Doktor (Dr.-Ing.) in Ingenieurwissenschaften, and both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mikrosystemtechnik, all obtained from the University of Freiburg.
