Paul Helpard's work experience includes several notable positions. Paul served as the Chief Executive Officer at Corus Orthodontists since October 2019. Prior to this, they worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of British Columbia, teaching orthodontic residents about the orthodontic care of patients with Cleft Lip and Palate Deformities as well as Craniofacial Anomalies. Paul also had a role as a Consultant Orthodontist on the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies Team at BC Children's Hospital since 2000. Additionally, Paul worked as a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics at Shoreline Orthodontics starting from July 1996. Before that, they worked as a Dental Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces from January 1991 to January 1994.

Paul Helpard's education history begins in 1983 when they enrolled at Western University and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Paul successfully completed their studies in 1987. Following this, Paul attended McGill University from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree specializing in Dentistry. Later, they attended the University of Iowa from 1994 to 1996, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Orthodontics.
