Ryan N.

Robotics Engineer at Corvus Robotics

Ryan N. has a diverse work experience in various technology-related roles. Ryan started their career as a Research Assistant at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, where they conducted quantum chemistry research and analyzed data using supercomputers. Ryan then worked as an Independent Contractor at Nordson ASYMTEK, where they designed a web app for data analysis.

Ryan then joined Nordson ASYMTEK as a Software Engineering Intern, focusing on artificial intelligence and deep learning for image analysis. Ryan gained expertise in convolutional neural networks and contributed to integrating automation in precision adhesive dispensing equipment.

Next, Ryan worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Viasat Inc., where they developed network simulations to evaluate wireless networks of cryptographic devices. Ryan also documented strategies for creating simulations to demonstrate performance to customers.

Ryan also had a role as a Flight Software Engineer Summer Intern at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Ryan created new testing capabilities for real-time embedded software and developed flight code for the integrated testing module. Ryan gained in-depth knowledge of flight software and added functionality involving calling conventions, thread scheduling, and memory access.

Additionally, Ryan served as a Lab Mentor at the University of California, Los Angeles for an Internet of Things course. Ryan advised students in hands-on labs and authored C programming tutorials.

More recently, Ryan worked as a Technical Lead for Ground Station and Controls at Unmanned Aerial Systems at UCLA. Ryan held this role for four years, leading the team responsible for ground station control systems.

Currently, Ryan is working as a Robotics Engineer at Corvus Robotics, beginning in 2023.

Ryan N. completed their Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UCLA, attending from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from UCLA, attending from 2017 to 2021. Ryan completed their high school education at Sage Creek High School, where they did not acquire a specific degree or field of study from 2013 to 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Ryan has also earned the Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 certification from Oracle in July 2016.
