Marci Howdyshell

Senior Director Of Scientific Content And Research at COSI

Marci Howdyshell has a diverse work experience in the field of STEM education and research. Marci has held roles such as Senior Director of Scientific Content and Research at COSI, Director of Science Content at COSI, Regional Manager at TECH CORPS, and Postdoctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt University Center for Science Outreach. Prior to these roles, they were an NSEC Fellow and Metro High School Graduate Student Fellow at The Ohio State University. Marci also has experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The Ohio State University and as a GK-12 Graduate Student Fellow at the National Science Foundation GK-12 Program. Additionally, they served as a Research Intern at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.

Marci Howdyshell earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Physics, Spanish, and Applied Mathematics from Albion College in 2008. Marci then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics at The Ohio State University from 2008 to 2011. Marci later completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at The Ohio State University from 2011 to 2014. In 2021, they obtained a certification as a Trained Mentor from Mentor Collective.
