Mike Waddington

Mike Waddington has extensive experience in the field of quality assurance and operations management. Mike began their career in 1993 as a Principal Investigator and Applications Scientist at MIDI, Inc. Mike then moved to MIDI Labs, Inc. in 1995 as a Director, where they were responsible for developing a MicroSeq*16S rRNA and 25S rRNA gene sequence database for the identification of microorganisms. In 1999, they joined Accugenix, Inc. as Director of Operations, where they supervised a DNA sequence based microbial identification laboratory and managed the fiscal budgets for several departments. In 2008, they became Director of Business Development at Accugenix, Inc., where they developed and implemented the organization's marketing strategy. In 2010, they joined Precision Bioservices as Senior Director of Operations, where they provided strategic direction to the company's Operations department. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at MedImmune as Lab Operations OSP Manager, providing direction and oversight for approximately 12 Outside Service Providers. In 2020, they joined Smithers - Pharmaceutical & Medical Device as Associate Director of Operations, Smithers PDS, where they were responsible for allocating appropriate technical and support resources to projects. Finally, in 2022, they joined CosmosID as Senior Manager of Quality Assurance.

Mike Waddington received their Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Virginia Tech in 1990 and their Master of Science in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from the University of Delaware in 1993.
