Rafael Ruisanchez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles since 1992. Rafael began as an Analyst at the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy from February 1992 to December 1994. Rafael then worked as an Economic and Technical Advisor at the Prime Ministers Office in Spain from January 1995 to May 1996. Rafael joined Banesto as a Senior Risk Analyst in June 1996 and worked there until November 1999. In November 1999, they joined the Council of Europe Development Bank as Deputy Chief Risk Officer and Director of Financial Risks. Rafael went on to become the Chief Risk Officer and Director of the Risk & Control Directorate from September 2022 onwards.
Rafael Ruisanchez obtained a degree in Economic and Business Science from the Universitat de Barcelona from 1986 to 1991. In 1997, they attended the Harvard University Institute for International Development to study Macroeconomics. In 2000, they went to INSEAD to pursue Risk Management in Banking. Additionally, in 2002, they attended NYU Stern School of Business to learn about Managing Credit Risk.
