Akisha Osei Sarfo

Akisha Osei Sarfo, Ph.D., serves as the Director of Research at the Council of the Great City Schools since May 2021 and is also the CEO of IERE Consulting, established in April 2013, focused on improving education via research and evaluation. Previous roles include Senior Associate Partner - Evaluation at Bellwether Education Partners, Chief Performance Officer at Guilford County Schools, Research Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware, and strategic contributions as a Board Member and Co-Program Chair of the Eastern Evaluation Research Society. Akisha has held fellowships with the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University and has extensive experience in research and evaluation, starting with graduate work at the University of Delaware, where a Ph.D. in Education Evaluation, Measurement, and Statistics was earned. Educational qualifications also include a Master of Arts in Educational Statistics and Research Methods from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the same institution.
