Michael Ferris has extensive experience in public health laboratory management. Michael served as the Public Health Laboratory Director for the County of Humboldt, where they maintained CLIA regulations and standards. Michael also held the position of Responsible Official (RO) at the County of Sonoma Department of Health Services, ensuring the proper handling and documentation of evidence. In addition, Ferris was the Director of the Public Health Regional Laboratory for Sonoma County, overseeing consultation, disease surveillance, and beach monitoring testing. Michael also served as the Director of the Public Health Laboratory for the County of Sonoma, where they directed various laboratories and conducted bioterrorism/biotoxin research. Ferris retired in 2018 after serving as the Public Health Laboratory Director for the County of Sonoma, where they oversaw clinical, food, and environmental testing.
Michael Ferris attended California State University-Sacramento from 1978 to 1980, where they pursued a BS degree in Microbiology.
