Shawn Merillat

Shawn Merillat is an accomplished emergency services specialist with extensive experience in public health and emergency preparedness. Currently employed by the County of San Benito since September 2018, Shawn directs emergency drills and workshops, conducts training on continuity of operations, and has significantly increased healthcare coalition membership while securing funding for enhanced preparedness capabilities. Previous roles include working as a vector control assistant at the Saint Louis County Health Department, a graduate research assistant, and contributing to the World Health Organization as an intern. Shawn holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Saint Louis University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from The University of Kansas, and a teaching certificate in ESL. Additionally, experience in workplace safety was gained through a masonry position from 2010 to 2015.
