Walter Prorok

Walter Prorok has a diverse work experience in various roles within the technology field. Walter has worked as a Senior PHP/Laravel Developer at Cover Whale since 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Software Engineer 2 at uBreakiFix from July 2020 to January 2023, where they maintained and updated the uBreakiFix back-end portal using technologies such as Laravel, PHP, MySQL, AngularJS, VueJS, HTML/CSS, Cloud 9, and Docker.

Before uBreakiFix, Walter was employed as a Web Application Developer at Entertainment Benefits Group from December 2018 to June 2020. In this role, they developed new features and maintained multiple web applications utilizing technologies like PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, GIT, and 3rd party API integration. Walter also worked with proprietary PHP framework, Code-igniter, and Laravel.

Furthermore, Walter worked briefly as a Web Application Developer at Sprint from August 2018 to November 2018. During this time, they developed and maintained web applications using Laravel 5, MySQL, VueJS, and Docker containers, with all source code committed to GitLab for continuous integration.

In addition to their web development roles, Walter also has experience in IT support. Walter worked as a Web Application Developer and IT Support at Transaction Data Systems, Inc from November 2014 to August 2018. In this capacity, they created, maintained, and improved user-friendly web applications using technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, Python, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Access, LAMP, IDE's, and GIT. Prior to this, they provided IT support for Point of Sale at the same company from May 2009 to November 2014.

Before joining Transaction Data Systems, Inc, Walter worked as IT Support at GNC from August 2008 to April 2009. Walter'sresponsibilities included hardware and software support for Point of Sale systems, requiring heavy verbal and technical support.

Walter Prorok has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, which they obtained from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2002, they completed an Associate's degree in Rock at Berklee College of Music. In addition to their formal education, Walter has also obtained several certifications, including React: Ecosystems from LinkedIn in September 2022, Building RESTful APIs in Laravel from LinkedIn in June 2022, Learning Vue.js from LinkedIn in May 2022, and Ultimate Laravel Course 2019 (+ PayPal, Webshop) from Udemy in June 2020. Walter also completed courses such as Laravel - Learn How to Create Charts with Vue.js and Laravel from Udemy in February 2019, Completion of Django from Udemy in January 2019, Laravel 5 Starter Course from Udemy in August 2018, Learn Object Oriented (PHP) from Eduonix Learning Solutions Pvt Ltd in November 2016, and Programming for Everybody (Python) from the University of Michigan in May 2015.
