Dale Sorensen

Dale Sorensen joined CoverCress Inc. as Chief Commercial Officer at the end of 2021. Founded in 2013, St. Louis based company is developing a winter oilseed crop for commercial production, derived from the native winter annual pennycress, under the CoverCress™ brand.

He comes with a broad background in production agriculture beginning with the family farm operation in southeastern South Dakota focused on beef, corn, and soybean production. He attended South Dakota State University where he received a BS degree in Agricultural Business and an MS degree in Agronomy/Soil Fertility.

Sorensen has nearly 4 decades of experience in research, product development, agronomy, sales, and marketing. Prior to joining CoverCress Inc. Dale's work experience includes managing the corn product portfolio and field agronomy team for DEKALB® Genetics Corp. as well as the American Seeds direct brands.

In his later years at Monsanto/Bayer, he was part of the team that began the development of the Climate FieldView® precision ag platform. After leaving Monsanto/Bayer, Dale spent 3 years as the VP of Agronomy at an agtech startup, CiBO Technologies. Most recently he was with Outward Ag LLC, the parent company of Midwest Seed Genetics and NC+ Hybrids, where he led the corn, soybean, and sorghum product management team of the company.
