Jan Busch has a diverse work experience in the chemical industry. Jan started their career as a Scientific Assistant at RWTH Aachen University in 2003 and worked there until 2008. Jan then joined Bayer Technology Services as a Process Expert from 2008 to 2011. Following that, they worked at Bayer MaterialScience as a Senior Process and Technology Expert for Isocyanates from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, they joined Covestro as the Deputy Plant Manager and Quality Manager for MDI Production, a role they held until 2016. From 2016 to 2021, they served as the Head of Hydrogenation and Nitration Process Technology at Covestro. Jan also briefly worked as a Venture Manager for a large-scale investment project from 2017 to 2018. In 2021, they were promoted to Vice President and Head of Polycarbonates Technology at Covestro. Jan Busch obtained their Abitur from Math. Nat. Gymnasium in the years 1987 to 1996, specializing in English and Math. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Chemical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, which they completed from 1997 to 2003. Jan then furthered their education at RWTH Aachen University, where they achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Process Engineering, spanning from 2003 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Jan also acquired certification as a Quality Manager from DQS in December 2014. During their education, Jan briefly attended Edina High School in the USA for the academic year 1993-1994, although no degree or field of study is specified for this period.
