Thomas Roemer

Thomas Roemer has extensive work experience in the chemical industry. Thomas began their career at Bayer in 2003, where they held the role of Assistant to the Business Unit Head for Polyurethanes until 2005. Thomas then took on the role of Director of Sales for South Eastern Europe and Managing Director of Bayer d.o.o in Serbia from 2005 to 2009.

In 2009, Thomas joined Covestro, where they held various leadership roles. Thomas started as the Vice President of Global Supply Management for Aromatic Isocyanates until 2011. Thomas then became the Vice President of Central Marketing for the Building & Construction Industry until 2013.

From 2013 to 2014, Thomas served as the Vice President of Trading and Energy & Inorganics Procurement. Thomas then took on the role of Vice President of Planning & Strategy for the BU Polyurethanes from 2014 to 2017.

In 2018, Thomas became the Senior Vice President of the Global Business Line for Thermoplastic Polyurethanes (TPU) until 2020. Thomas then transitioned to the role of Senior Vice President for Polycarbonates in the Global Mobility Industry from 2020 to 2021.

Thomas's next role at Covestro was Chief Procurement Officer from 2021 to 2023. Currently, they serve as the Executive Vice President and Head of Coatings & Adhesives.

Thomas Roemer completed their Ph.D. (Dr. rer. pol.) in Corporate Strategy from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg from 2006-2008. Prior to that, they earned an MBA in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh from 2002-2003.
