Razia Aliani

Razia Aliani has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations related to healthcare, research, and project management. Starting in 2014, they worked as a Nursing Intern at The Aga Khan University Hospital, where they provided holistic care to patients in various departments and performed manual and technical functions. Razia later worked as a Critical Care Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the same hospital.

In 2016, Razia worked as a Nurse Specialist at Madinah Maternity and Children Hospital, focusing on providing holistic care to neonates with critical conditions or prematurity and educating and supporting their families.

From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Systematic Reviewer at Cochrane, where they reviewed evaluation studies of automated tools for systematic reviews and contributed to the development of guidelines for evaluating these tools.

In 2020, Razia was a Research Coordinator at Aga Khan University, where they conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of trials aimed at improving vaccine access and coverage among school-aged children and adolescents.

Razia then served as a Consultant Epidemiologist at EpiSmart and Akhter Hameed Khan Foundation, where they worked on projects related to COVID-19 surveillance, data analysis, and communication with government entities.

In 2022, Razia founded Youthfolio, an initiative focused on upskilling young health researchers in low- and middle-income countries and connecting them with learning opportunities and research collaborations.

Currently, they are working as the Manager of the Systematic Review Community at Covidence.org. Their responsibilities include integrating AI into the product, providing technical support to systematic reviewers, building the Covidence community, and designing support resources.

Razia Aliani completed their Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at Aga Khan University from 2010 to 2014. Following that, they attended EHESP - École des hautes études en santé publique and obtained a degree in Advanced Epidemiology and Biostatistics from 2018 to 2019.
