Mark Lawson is the executive vice president, chief marketing and sales officer for Cox Communications. Lawson is responsible for leading the company’s residential sales team and marketing activities. He also works closely with the strategy, product and technology teams to develop the company’s growth strategy and partners closely with the customer experience team to ensure the brand promise and customer experience are in alignment.
Lawson offers more than 25 years of experience in digital marketing and sales strategy, e-commerce, online operations, program management and technology leadership roles. He joined Cox in 2013 as vice president of online sales. Prior to being promoted to chief marketing and sales officer, Lawson served as senior vice president of digital, where he led strategy and marketing across Cox’s entire online channel and user experience. His team was responsible for increasing Cox’s online channel growth, improving the digital user experience, driving the Cox digital brand message as well as defining and delivering a focused digital and mobile enablement roadmap.
Before joining Cox, Lawson served as the executive director of internet sales and operations for the business and consumer channels of Verizon Wireless.
Mark holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and a minor in mathematics from Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois, and an MBA from Indiana University.
