Shereta Williams

Senior Vice President, Growth Operations at Cox Enterprises

Shereta Williams is the senior vice president of growth operations for Cox Enterprises, a private, family-owned company based in Atlanta, Georgia, with more than $20 billion in annual revenues and nearly 50,000 employees.

The Growth Operations team is part of the Strategy and Corporate Development group at Cox Enterprises, and it is responsible for building new operating divisions for the company, managing strategic partnerships and investments, and accelerating these businesses’ growth. In this role, Williams is responsible for all Cox Enterprises owned and controlled businesses outside the core operating divisions of Cox Communications and Cox Automotive, with a primary focus on cleantech and media.

An electrical engineer graduate from M.I.T., Williams began her career working in investment banking at Lazard Frères & Co., where she participated in acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, hostile takeovers, and public debt and equity offerings. She joined the Cox Enterprises Corporate Venture Group in 1998 and took on increasing responsibilities in a variety of strategy, corporate development and operational roles at Cox Television and Cox Media Group. In between roles at Cox, Williams was the managing director of the currency division for Maven Funds, a startup hedge fund in Atlanta where she was responsible for implementation of automated trading systems.

Williams is a member of the board of directors for Daktronics, Inc., a South Dakota-based manufacturer of large-format LED video displays and audiovisual systems. She is also a board member for STE(A)M Truck, a non-profit focused on providing students with access to STEAM-based learning experiences in communities where they don’t currently exist.
